Steve Jobs + The New York Times:
According to the author, Walter Isaacson, Jobs wanted to help journalism and in particular the New York Times. Before the iPad launched, Jobs met with about 50 of the paper’s leaders and told them that the Times’ app should be offered at a midpoint price ($5 “at most”) in order to reach the most readers. Jobs was determined to help the Times figure out digital subscriptions as well, claiming, “I think it’s important for the country for them to figure it out.”
